Faith Will Get You Through

Faith isn’t about having all the answers. It’s the quiet belief that even when life doesn’t go to plan, you will get through it, you will learn something, and in the end, you will be okay.

This month I’m sharing a series of my beliefs, and if you read my last one, “Everything is Figureoutable,” this week I am sharing a foundational piece you must have underneath it.

It’s faith. And I’m not talking about religion.

I’m talking about that quiet, steady belief that even in the face of uncertainty, challenges, or even tragedy… there is a purpose greater than what you can see right now and you will get through it, you will learn something, and in the end… YOU WILL BE OK.

Faith isn’t loud, it doesn’t mean you have all the answers. It’s simply that inner confidence, inner wisdom that says: “I don’t understand this yet… but I trust that I will.”

Because the truth is, we don’t control much in life and yet… so many of us spend our time trying to control everything: outcomes, timelines, other people.

And when we do that, we create unnecessary stress, frustration, and disappointment.

At some point, you have to release that. You have to trust the process, learn how to sit in the discomfort, and keep putting one foot in front of the other, even when it’s freaking hard and doesn’t make sense.

Because life… is life… all we control is how we show up.

Constants I come back to

  • Change is inevitable (nothing grows in comfort)
  • Death is guaranteed
  • Anything worthwhile is uphill
  • Life will not go according to plan
  • You don’t control outcomes or people, only your actions

When you really accept that… you can find peace in the unknown, stop resisting, stop trying to force or control everything.

You stop asking, “Why is this happening?” And you start asking, “What is this here to teach me?”

Because faith doesn’t remove the hard. It just gives you the strength to walk through it.

So let me ask you…

  • What are you trying to control… that you can’t?
  • What do you need to let go of that is no longer serving you?
  • What belief about yourself are you continuing to carry… that is holding you back? (You are not defined by your past.)
  • Where in your life are you letting the past shape your perspective… instead of choosing to look through a different lens to see new possibilities?
  • What would change if you chose to believe you’ll be okay… no matter how it unfolds?

Maybe today isn’t about having it all figured out. Maybe today is just about trusting that you will and taking the next step anyway.

Because when you combine faith with action… that’s when everything becomes figureoutable.

Your friend,

Tara Allen

P.S. You don’t need all the answers right now. Just take the next step.
