
I was excellent at setting goals and terrible at designing the weeks that would actually produce them. Here's what finally changed.
I used to think clarity was the hard part. Write the vision, get specific, and the rest follows. It doesn't. The hard part is translating a vision into what you actually do on a Wednesday.
Vision is a calendar problem
If your goals aren't visible in your ideal week, they're not goals. They're hopes with better formatting.
- Write the vision in plain language.
- Translate it into three outcomes for the quarter.
- Put those outcomes on the calendar before anything else claims the space.
I still miss weeks. But now I notice within days instead of months, and that difference compounds.
